Randy B will have another surgery to deal with an infection in his foot. Pray for healing and comfort for Randy. His address is: Randall B, c/o John H Stroger Jr Hospital, Room 5733A, 1969 W Odgen Ave., Chicago IL 60612
Kim D G is home again after a hospitalization to treat abscesses. Pray that she regains strength and can stay healthy.
Eileen H was hospitalized for a few days this week, but has returned home.
Bev H broke her leg. Pray for healing and that surgery is not necessary.
Shirley S has been transferred to Lemont Center for rehabilitation. Continue to lift her up as she recuperates.

Today, Richard M will reaffirm his faith and join Faith Church. Richard’s previous church membership was with First United Methodist Church of Stephenville, TX.
Thanks to everyone who helped set-up, serve, clean, feed, guide, and teach at VBS Sonquest Rainforest this week. We had a great time with over 70 children! We collected lots of school supplies and money for Elim Hope Packs for Haiti. Thanks for all of your prayers before and during VBS! Continue to pray for the children and their families.
VBS helpers Pizza Party: All who helped in VBS this week are invited to come for a pizza party and follow-up meeting this Friday, July 30, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall. We need your thoughts and feedback as to what went right, and how we can improve for next year.
Clearing out the Rainforest: Thank you to all who brought trees or greenery for our VBS rainforest. You may pick them up after the service this morning.
Pastor Mark will be on vacation August 2-9.
Faith Church Picnic: Join us on Saturday, August 28 from noon – 4:00 p.m. (lunch at 12:30) at Camp Manitoqua in Frankfort (8122 West Sauk Trail). Come for fellowship, sack races, water balloons, guessing games, softball and fun! We’ll provide the fried chicken, coffee, lemonade & water. To help us plan, please RSVP by filling out one of the yellow forms in the narthex and place it in the picnic basket by Sunday, August 15.
Tinley Park Food Pantry: Next Sunday, is another opportunity for you to bring food donations for the TPFP. They would especially appreciate gifts of cereal, bottled drinks, and pasta, although any non-perishable food donations are welcome any time.

Tom V recently injured his knee and had surgery. Pray for a full recovery and for Tom to experience God’s grace as he deals with this injury.
Norma D is recovering at home from foot surgery.
Kim D G returned home last week after a month in the hospital. She continues to receive therapy. Pray for strength and patience for Kim and those who are helping her.
Shirley S has been hospitalized at Silver Cross Hospital with heart problems.
Happy birthday to Shirley, who celebrated her 80th birthday on July 11.
Happy Birthday to Jean H, who celebrates her 83rd birthday on Thursday, July 22!

OUR CHURCH FAMILY
Ed D was told that his cancer is not responding to the chemotherapy and he will not be receiving any further treatments. Please keep on praying for Ed and Carol and the family.
Norma D submitted to foot surgery on Friday. Pray for patience and healing during the recuperation process.
Kim D G continues to improve. She had a final surgery on Tuesday and did not need a skin graft, so she may be released from the hospital soon. She has regained a lot of strength. Thanks for your continued prayers for Kim and her family.
Remember those who struggle with mental health issues. There are more than a few among us who know this first hand.
Dawn T and her daughter, Laura, will be spending the week of July 14-21 in Haiti (mostly Ganthier and Port-au-Prince) with a small team traveling with Servants Gift. They will share VBS with groups of children in various locations, share humanitarian aid, and help wherever needed. Pray for Dawn and Laura, and if you would like to read trip updates from the trip leader, go to www.servantsgift.com in the "News Blast" section.

Mary Lou V fell last Sunday and broke her wrist. Keep Don & Mary Lou in your prayers.
Kim is now off the ventilator and was able to sit, eat food, and converse. She has much to regain, including better kidney function, but much cause for prayers of thanks and praise. Continue to pray for Ed & Carol and the family.
The R family sends sincerest thanks for all the thoughtful cards and prayers that the members of Faith have sent to them on the passing of Kathy’s father.
Bernie S is going to China where he will teach an English course. He will be commissioned in our service this morning.

Kim D remains in critical condition at Northwestern Hospital following the birth of a healthy baby boy. After several surgeries she is beginning to show signs of improvement. She will likely remain in the hospital at least another month. Please pray for this family!
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Jason & Lindsay (F) V who were united in Christian marriage yesterday at Palos Heights Christian Reformed Church.

Ed and Carol D’s daughter Kim gave birth to a healthy baby boy at Northwestern Hospital on Wednesday, but she had two surgeries on Thursday and is in critical condition after internal bleeding and kidney failure. Please pray for this family!

Alex D is home and recuperating after prostate cancer surgery. Give thanks that the surgery went well, and pray for a steady recuperation and no cancer.
Ed D continues to receive chemo treatments. Keep praying for Ed and the family.

Dan H is home from the hospital and is being treated for congestive heart failure.

Dave L continues to have migraines and significant pain in his shoulders. Some more tests are planned. Please continue to lift up Dave and his family.
Ed and Carol D got the news that Ed’s cancer is progressing. He has a couple of tumors in his lungs. The three different chemotherapy drugs that have been used so far have apparently not been effective and until test results are back, it is unclear whether more chemotherapy can be given. Obviously, this is very serious, and that is how it was described to them. Please call on our heavenly Father for Ed and Carol and their family.

Pictorial Directory: The church directory information will be included in the upcoming pictorial directory so it needs to be updated again. Copies are on tables in the Fellowship Hall and the narthex. Please check your listing and made necessary changes, including ministry updates.
Graduates: The June Faith Focus will include a section dedicated to 2010 graduates. Information sheets for High School and Post High graduates are in the outer office. Please fill one out and return it, along with a recent picture, to Mary D’s mailbox or email her by May 23. Students graduating from 8th grade will be listed in the Faith Focus, so please let Mary know.
Vacation Bible School/Sunquest Rainforest Sign-Up Sheets have been posted in the fellowship hall. VBS will be July 19-23 for children age 4 through 5th grade. Prayerfully consider where you can put your talents to work, and sign the sheet today.

Help Feed Our Workers! Our Clean Up/Fix Up day volunteers need fuel! We will be serving breakfast at church and providing snacks. Volunteers are needed to make breakfast casseroles, muffins, coffee cakes, and cookies for our work day on Saturday, May 15th. A sign-up sheet will be in the Fellowship Hall on the coffee table today. If you have questions, please contact Deb J. Thank you!
Pictorial Directory: The church directory information will be included in the upcoming pictorial directory so it needs to be updated again. Copies are on tables in the Fellowship Hall and the narthex. Please check your listing and made necessary changes, including ministry updates.
High School Graduates: The June Faith Focus will include a section dedicated to 2010 graduates, so please complete the information sheet found in your parents’ mailbox today, and return it, along with a recent picture, to Mary D’s mailbox or email her by May 23.
Post High School Graduates are also encouraged to share your graduation news and a picture with the congregation. Forms are in the outer office or can be emailed to the college/grad. student to fill out. Supply Jan B with their email address. Send completed information to Mary D, as above.
Coffee: The kitchen is running low on coffee (regular and decaf). If you’re out shopping and could pick up a can, we would appreciate it! The Care Committee.
